Drunk September 2013
This Gevrey Chambertin courtesy of Waitrose fell very much into the OK camp and I was expecting more. Though this is a "Viellles Vignes", with vines that are over 60 years old, this Pinot Noir lacked the usual power and complexity of a good Gevrey. Some aroma of Strawberry and cherry, but not to interesting in the mouth, bit of tannin, fruit, alcohol. Perhaps, the Premier Cru is the only way to go in the Cote de Nuits ?
